Appeal following robbery in Melton
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 23-year-old man was robbed in Melton Mowbray.
The incident happened between 11pm on Saturday May 16 and 12am on Sunday May 17, 2009 as the victim was making his way home after a night out along Asfordby Road away from the town centre.
As he neared the junction with Park Avenue, he was suddenly attacked from behind by four youths.
They ran off towards Longfield School and the victim realised a quantity of cash had been taken from his wallet.
The victim attended hospital for treatment to a cut to his forehead and a swollen eye.
The victim has described his attackers as white, between 16 and 18-years-old, around 5’9” tall and of a slim build. The first is described as wearing a navy blue tracksuit, a black hooded top, white baseball cap and white trainers. The second is described as having red hair and was wearing a black top with the hood up, black jogging bottoms and black trainers.
There is no further description of the other two youths.
PC Jonathan Goddard, who is investigating the incident, said: “We are hoping someone may have seen the incident or remembers seeing someone matching these descriptions in the area. Perhaps you were also walking home after a night out? Maybe you saw the route the youths took after the incident?
"Any details you recall, no matter how insignificant they may seem, could be vital to the investigation, so please get in touch."
