Appeal following incident in Melton Mowbray
Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident where a pushchair with a child in was pushed into the road in Melton Mowbray.
The incident happened at around 6.15pm on Sunday May 10, when a mother and father stood at a crossing on Wilton Road with their child and were approached by a man known to them.
The man became violent and then pushed the push chair into the road. The father quickly retrieved the pushchair but a black Volkswagon vehicle swerved out of the way in order to miss it.
The man then continued to follow the couple and the child, shouting at them until finally leaving them near to Westbourne House.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Constable James Harrison, the officer investigating the incident, said: “Luckily no-one was hurt during the incident but we would like anyone who saw tit happen to contact us.
“We are particularly interested in talking to the occupants of the Volkswagon who swerved out of the way of the pushchair. They may hold key information about the incident and we would like to appeal to them contact us.
“We would like anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to call us.”
