Police want to reunite items with owners

Police in Melton have released images of dozens of items which they are trying to reunite with their owners.

Officers are hoping to trace the owners of more than 70 items of property which were all stolen from the Melton Mowbray and Grantham areas before June 26 last year.

Police carried out a search of a property in Lake Terrace, in Melton in June 2008 and recovered the items.

A 34-year-old man was arrested for conspiracy to handle stolen goods. He was released with no further action.

The items include laptops, power tools, binoculars, digital cameras and flat screen computer monitors.

DC Jenny Tattersall is appealing for anyone who may have had similar items stolen to get in touch.

She said: "We are very keen to trace the rightful owners of this property and I'd ask anyone who may have similar items stolen to contact me. If you were the victim of a burglary in the Melton or Grantham areas before June last year and believe any of this property could be yours then please get in touch."

DC Tattersall can be contacted by ringing Leicestershire Constabulary on Leicester (0116) 222 2222 and follow the instructions to leave a message for an officer. When prompted key in her identification number, 4090.
