Damage to vehicles in Melton Mowbray

Police in Melton Mowbray are appealing for witnesses following a series of incidents where by cars have been damaged.

Officers have said that there have been a large number of cases where car tyres were slashed overnight between Friday February 13 and Saturday February 14.

Most of the affected vehicles were parked on Algernon Road, Kings Road and St Johns Court. On each occasion there has been at least one tyre slashed, in some cases more, causing great inconvenience and cost to the owners.

PC Kevin Gray, who is investigating the incident, said: "This is causing problems for the victims who can't afford to replace their tyres. Have you seen anyone acting suspiciously around various vehicles in the area? Were you in the area between these times? If so then we urge you to contact us.

"We'd ask anyone who has any information to contact us, no matter how insignificant the information may seem it may help us with out investigation."
