Highways, Transportation & Waste Management
A Bottesford recycling facility is set to receive a facelift later this month.
Residents will benefit from a new road surface and drainage system being put in at Bottesford Household Waste and Recycling Site.
The facility, which collects 1,600 tonnes of waste and recycles 50% of materials each year, will have to close during the work taking place between Monday 23rd and Friday 27th February.
During that week, people are asked to use the nearest alternative site at Lake Terrace in Melton.
The improvements have been scheduled to take place during a quieter period.
Nicholas Rushton, County Council Deputy Leader and Chairman of the Leicestershire Waste Partnership, said: "Our recycling and household waste sites are very popular and allow residents to keep recycling more and more.
“These improvements will ensure continued good service for all local residents."
There are 14 recycling and household waste sites across Leicestershire where residents are able to recycle a range of materials, including electrical items and yoghurt pots.
The facilities are open seven-days-a-week from 8am until 6pm. For more information visit www.leics.gov.uk/waste or call 0116 305 0001.
Bottesford Recycling and Household Waste Site is located on Normanton Lane, Bottesford, NG13 0EL.
