Loughborough Market Place and surrounding streets will be brought to life by giant robots, fantastic music from around the world, dance, jugglers and other circus skills. Streets Alive! is a great event to see local performers alongside international and national professionals.
Highlights include the brilliant Oojami, a band which fuses the moving sounds of Turkish music with UK and other contemporary beats. This group is sure to get those hips gyrating and is a must for all belly dancing fans!
Bernie Bennett is a tightrope walker with spectacular skills and a comic genius too! Bernie trained with Cirque de Soleil and is guaranteed to entertain.
Also, the fantastic performers from Charnwood’s Got Christmas Talent will be having another outing to share their astonishing abilities with us. There will even be the odd comedian and a line up of other bands to brighten your day!
As well at performances, there will be food stalls and a host of craftspeople so you can buy little trinkets and sample the odd delicacy or two. This year, some of the shops will also be open for the Bank Holiday so why not get some shopping in and then let your feet tap their way to the main stage?
Streets Alive! is created by Charnwood Arts and Charnwood Borough Council, with support from the Town Centre Partnership and AstraZeneca R+D Charnwood. This partnership has developed this free event especially for the people of Charnwood. This one’s for you, so why not join in with the fun?
Streets Alive! is on Bank Holiday Monday, 26th May from 12 noon and 5.00pm.
